preasure pads

I am planing to make a installation of reclaimed materials but i want to make the pieces of art interactive with the viewers, so i have decided to use old fairy lights but I want the viewers to be able to activate them, so I was thinking about preasure pads? but dont know much about them or where i can get them, so if anyone as any ideas please let me know.thanks

Burglat alarm type pressure pads:

These are only suitable for low power, so you would probably need to use the mat to operate a relay, and the relay to operate the lights (unless maybe you used LED fairy lights).
