Mazda 626 s Management system
A friend has a R reg mazda 626 which stopped completly and the garage said the management system has gone. The man said its not really worth doing. I was just wondering how much are these things to buy new or second hand and fit. he was thinking about scraping it but i would like it myself.

All modern engine management systems will actually self-diagnose pretty well, and report what the problem is, but as each manufacturer has a different set of error codes, and often require specialised test equipment, a lot of smaller garages count problems like this as "not worth the hassle of dealing with".
This is one type of problem where you are probably better off going to an authorized dealer for the make of car, as they will have all the right information and equipment to interrogate the computer.
