Real Player and Windows Media Player

I have always downloaded all my music on to my Real Player on my pc. I've discovered recently that the sound on Real Player is distorted yet on all other of my pc applications the sound is fine - and try as i might I cannot seem to fix it. Anyway, I also have Windows Media Player (which my kids use all the time to play all their music) so therefore have decided to try and transfer all my accumlulated music from Real Player (playlists et al) to windows Media player and just get rid of RP. Again however, try as I might to do a simple transfer by 'adding' music files from WMP from RP, I cannot do it! Anybody have a solution without me having to download all my music from scratch to WMP! Thanks in advance.

Are you songs in realplayer format? (sounds like they are.)

If so, you need to convert them to a better format, perhaps like mp3.

however, you may be better re-downloading your stuff again; the distortion may still be there.

Thanks for the above link. Unfortunately my system is not up to date enough for me to run this. Do you know if there is a similar version of noteburner that would be suitable for windows 98?
