I have previously had petrol driven cars
I have now bought a Citroen ZX Diesel 1.9
Will the oil Castrol GTX 10/40 be accepted in my diesel engine ?? or should I use a diesel oil ?

some quality oils can be used in either petrol or diesel cars,it will tell you on the can.but there are diesel only oils, which are only meant for diesels.
On some newer diesels it is critical which deisel oil is used, do not take advice from this site !

Check with a Citroen servicing centre to make sure you get the right one.

You can check with Castrol on the link.
As a general rule you need semi synthetic for most moder Turbo diesels though Castrol GTD is OK for older diesels
This will have an XUD engine, so any diesel-specific engine oil will be fine, you don't need to shell out for anything exotic.

Just change it regularly.
