its normally fathers in the news for this kind of act. I think because I am a mother, it shocks me more, I cant imagine what makes a woman flip that much. I know this sounds strange but i find it even weirder that children well weren't exactly kids.

Maybe she was trying to get her husband? I really just am at a loss for words. Is it just me or is there a lot of this in the news at the moment?

a horrible story and shocking but in a way its strange that we are shocked by these sort of crimes any more as they are quite common.

The victim of a homicide is much more likely to know their killer, for example in 2000/01 (sorry for old data my book is out of date) 71% of women killed knew the attacker (59% killed by their current or former partner, 28% killed by a family member; usually a parent) In the same year only 42% of men were killed by someone they knew (8% killed by current or former partner, 29% by a family member; again usually a parent)

A horrible story and i can't imagine how the father is feeling but maybe it goes to show that we should get the idea of the evil stranger out of our minds and look at bit closer at our nearest and dearest!!
There is nothing more shocking than a child being murdered by their parents ~ I use the term 'child' loosely because I mean a son or daughter..and to me, they will always be your children no matter what their age.

I find the fact that the mother is under suspicion no more shocking than if it were the ather ~ however I do realise that people lean towards being more shocked as it was the mother due to the belief that mothers are supposed to be the nurturers..and of course it is us who carry the child in our wombs, go through the pain of birth etc.

No matter what hardship a parent is going through..be it financial, divorce, contact issues etc I could never imagine taking this road. It is an awful, selfish act.

Teenagers can be very trying, although I think murdering them is a bit extreme. Mind you, I could not handle mine if I was a single parent.
