Digital Broadcasting and Time Signals
2 Answers
DAB digital radio is about 3 seconds delayed compared to analogue, so much so trying to listen to both at the same time is very disconcerting. When the BBC broadcast The Pips on the hour, the analogue one is therefore 3 seconds earlier than the digital. While this is of probably little real significance, are there any cases where a time delay in digital broadcasting could be crucial ?
(The digital pips are clearly Wrong though, aren't they)

Classic FM are known to have delayed their analogue transmission pips to make the DAB delay less noticeable, thus doing no-one a favour!!
