These Africans who have paid 1500 thats nearly $3000 to get a boat to Italy. Now this got me thinking, if these people are the downtrodden, where in heavens name did they get the 1500 to escape, because that sort of money is quite a large sum to most people over here, over there it's more than a couple of years wages to the poor. Then if you think about it, most of the wow are me people seeking a hiding place, they also seem to be able to afford to pay large sums of money to escape their country, makes ya think, well it made me think.

The people you are talking about who travel from Africa, as well as those from Middle Eastern countries, generally do not take out loans like this. Instead they save the money over several years and their large families sell land in order to fund the journey. This is on the understanding that the person coming here will be able to find a fantastic job and send lots of money back to support their families.
