512 MB RAM - but only 256 MB recognised

Just bought this RAM PC133 DIMM CL3 to replace 128MB.
Make: Kingston = OK. Where: China = ?...
Never heard of such a problem. Any suggestions?
Only difference I can see is CL2 on the 128 MB RAM.
