Is it safe to send money abroad by Royal Mail International Signed For? I understand that the maximum insured is 250, but does Royal Mail not make themselves responsible if the money goes missing abroad? It seems to be the cheapest way to send money abroad for me.

Hmmmm apologies. I asked this question not long ago and received some good answers. I forgot! The Royal Mail website does say that when sending cash 100 is the maxium insured. However, the bloke at the post office today said it was 250! That was after I told him I was sending cash to the specific country and the amount of cash.
I think then that sending money via my bank will be the cheapest method.
