Vaccinations and Tunisia

Does anybody know if they'll refuse you entry into Tunisia if you don't have vaccinations? I've searched but I haven't had a clear cut answer to this but what I can gather is the vaccs. appear to be recommendations not a requirement. Does anyone know for sure? And why did my friend get hers done for free but we have to pay? We live in different areas but I got told it's because ours is a private clinic. Is this true? We have no choice to use private because our other local clinic told us they need at least six weeks notice but we could only give them four but my friend got hers done with same time remaining. This is our first holiday abroad. Thanks.

Its not a REQUIREMENT to get any vaccinations for Tunisia and you won't be refuse entry. A few are recommended (as they are for most countries) such as tetanus, hep a etc. The majority of people are up to date with tetanus anyway and in the unlikely even that something should happen when you're out there its a jab that can be given when you're taken to hospital for treatment. As for Hep A it wonn't be needed unless you are travelling way off the beaten trap (which as its your 1st hol i assume you're not) or have a chronic liver condition.
If youre fit and healthy and just going on a standard package holiday, don't worry about it and have a wonderful, relaxing trip!

Sorry, but I disagree with fistralboy - it is well worth getting your Hepatitis A vaccinations even if you have to pay for it. I had it once and it is horrible, much worse than having one injection, even if you have to pay for it. And no, I wasn't in an 'off the beaten track placew' - I was in London!

I agree, you wanot be refused entry for not having the vaccination but it's worth having them done. Especially if you decide to incorporate one of thedesert safaris into your holiday which do tend to go slightly off the beaten track! (By the way, if you do get the chance to go on one of the safaris I highly recommend it! We did a 4 day one and it was fantastic!)

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to risk it. It's far too expensive for a recommendation and as long as we get in that's fine by me.
