10 Answers
girls 12 to 13 can get mass vaccinated against cervical cancer.
cervical cancer caused by sexual contact at an early age.
so if the vaccinate before theyre sexually active then it will save them.
so good idea or bad?
personally anything that can garuntee to stop cervical cancer has to be good.

The cancer spread and she had a horrible operation called a vulvectomy - don't try googling that one if you've just eaten because it will turn your stomach. She eventually died at a young age. For the record, cervical cancer is NOT always caused by sexual contact at an early age.
Any vaccination which has a good chance of preventing this disease can only be a good thing.

I agree, mrs_overall.
My grandmother had the same operation after her cervical cancer pread. She didn't lose her virginity until the day she married at 24 years old.
I have read about the man (a doctor) who will be refusing to vaccinate his daughter in case it gives her the idea to start having sex!

I think this is a very good idea - though the cost would be very high (costing approx 300 pounds per child i believe) the number of lives saved would be amazing.
On a side note legend this vaccination is to prevent the human papiloma virus which can cause cervical cancer, they will be giving the vacccination to the young as the virus is spread by sexual contact but it doesn't mean that early sexual contact is more at risk of cervical cancer i believe just that they wish to vaccinate before sexual contact, whenever that might be, occurs and thus reduce the risk of cancer later in life... i'm not sure that paragraph made sense - sorry have a news link instead its prob more awake than me... i need more coffee

IF you contract HPV before you are 17, this esposes the cervix at a more susceptible time. I am pretty sure that cancer caused by HPV is as near to the 100% mark as it could be. Thats why women who have had it have to have yearly smears.
Of course its a good idea. Vaccinating between the ages of 12 and 13 would hopefully get most girls before they start getting active with boys.

if they have this vaccine they are apparently garubnteed not to get cervical cancer.
the hpv virus can be carried by men to women and so after first time of sex with a man whos second time say you can get hpv leading to cervical cancer.
its not about sleeping with lots of folk either.
the guy i mentioned his first time mightve been with someone with 5 partners but they all had partners too.
so when you think about it its spread so easily.
but can be prevented for 300 pounds.
sounds a good deal to me .
hope the analogy didnt bore you.was trying to make a point .
