Who remembers The Streets Of San Francisco? I am a little confused about this.I have just watched the last half of a film called Return To The Streets Of San Francisco in which Mike Stone investigates the murder of Steve Keller,though as the film was made 16 years after Keller left the series I don't really get that.Anyway I'm sure the character of Keller was killed in the series,but I have just looked at a few places on the net and it says that Keller left the police to become a teacher.I'm sure he must have been killed as there were clips from the series showing him dying in Stone's arms.I didn't see the last series so can anyone tell me what happened please?

It would seem that Michael Douglas left the Streets of San Francisco before the series ended. I have found a reference to an episode where 'Steve left the police force'.

Thanks to both of you.I had found those refences and they are in part responsible for my confusion.The entry for Return To..... on IMDb is incorrect in terms of the film itself as described by the Virgin programme guide yesterday and the last half of the film which I watched.The guide states that Stone is investigating the death of Keller where IMDb says Keller is missing.Also dialogue and a flashback (presumably from the original episode) indicate Keller's death.
I'm sure at the time I remember articles about Keller being killed off because it was unusual at the time for a lead in a series to be killed.But nothing I can find so far says Keller was killed.

Can't you just imagine Caterine Zeta-Jones sitting with her parents watching this programme in the 1970's and saying, ''I'm going to marry him when I grow up?'' and her parents having a fit until they realised that she meant Michael Douglas and not Karl Malden !!!
