the chances of getting a virus with firefox is much reduced.
It also allows you to customise your browser to your needs and requirements through add-ons (download from the mozilla homepage) - for example i use the add-on to stop adverts being displayed on the web pages i visit e.g. no google ads, moving pics, or other rubbish slowing down the speed at which the page loads, i also have a very handy download manager, and an add-on that speeds up the load rate.

what else - it organises my bookmarks in a way i prefer (tabs along the top)
It hardly ever crashes

think that'll do - needless to say i much prefer firefox
1) free software. if you don't like it, you can change it yourself, if you're capable

2) security. far more secure than IE, due in large part to it being free software

3) extensions. not sure where I'd be without tab mix plus, downthemall, fasterfox, and several others

4) cross-platform. means if you use other platforms, you don't have to get used to different browsers

5) superior web standards support
I agree with all that's been said.

I could not do with Adblock Plus (does exactly as you'd expect); ebaynegs; scrapbook......

I have it exactly as I want it, and IE7 just does not compare.
FF for me too. TabmixPlus, IE Tab and NoScript are essential for me.

In my own testing, FF renders quicker too.
