This is probably a very silly question so I will apologise in advance !!!

I am unable to get onto the internet via my laptop even though I am told that the signal is "very good". I can gain access to the internet via my desktop without problem. Why is this so ?

Have you ever connected wirelessly with your current equipment?

Yes I have connected many times. It is just annoying that when I want to settle in another room I cannot get connected even though the signal is "very good".I would say that for 95% I am able to get a connection .It is just the other 5% !!!!!
Have you tried disconnecting or reconnecting when this happens?

Or right clicking your wireless icon, and click 'repair'.
Question Author
No - I will give that a go.many thanks
Question Author
I tried the "Repair"last night - but still no luck.In the end I gave up !! This morning I switched on the laptop - and everything was back to normal and I was able to connect to the internet.
Is it me ????????
make sure that every phone point in your house has a microfilter, as this can cause loss of connection to your isp, even though you will still be able to connect to you router,
