hi, im examining the different ways of printing a CD/DVD label.

i'm guessing i can buy circular labels on an A4 paper and run it through my printer, unpeeling and sticking the result onto a cd.

ive also seen printers that load cd/dvds and print directly onto the treated surface. trouble with these is they look too big. i remember seeing one a while ago that looked about the size of my fist and you stuck the cd in vertically and it rotated it. trouble is i cant find any mention of it online.

can anyone help. are the A4 labels worth sticking onto cds or should i go with a printer? if so which one.

im printing about 20 a month is all and dont want to use an outside company.

thanks

I get my blank labels from 'Staples'. I am cpying my VHS to DVD, and have allways printed the labels. I have made up templates on a DTP (Pagemaker 6.5) package, and have had no trouble with it yet.
I have an Epson Stylus R200 that prints directly on to the CD, great results every time, you do need to buy printable CDs though, available at most PC stores at the same price as normal CDs I also use same printer for all my other printing needs including printing excellent quality photos!!

Some CD / DVD writers come with a technology called Lightscribe built in.

With this the CD / DVD writer itself writes the label on the CD or DVD.

I have not used it so no idea if it is any good.

My hp printer prints straight onto the disc, i used to use labes, but find printig directly onto the disc the best way, as i always used to et the lbles curlin up when trying to remove them from the sheet the old way.
