Picea glauca var-albertiana conica

I have 2 conica trees both in the same position sunny, and in big plant boxes both planted in the same sil. One of them is dying, all the pines have dropped and the other one is starting to go the same, will they be better of planted in the garden in a sunny spot? Any idea why they are dying?

Conifers are normally trouble free. What kills them is usually a lack of water. The effects of draught may take many weeks to be seen, so it is possible that the cause occured some time ago.
Unfortunatley the damage is not reversable and the conifers are doomed!! Plant some more and keep them well watered in hot weather.

This variety of the blue colorado blue spruce is a popular drarf tree often grown on rockeries for it's size and shape, it should do well either in cotaiers or in the ground, providing that you do not have dry chalky soil.
It will grow best in moist acidic soil that is free draining otherwise it will struggle.
