Is there any reason why every time I try to type "the" it comes out as "teh" unless I'm really careful. Seriously, it happen all the time. Is there a name for this tendency? It's not as if "h" and "e" are near each other on teh keyboard - that last mispelling wasn't a joke, it actually happened!!!

Christ alone know...I always seem tpo mistype your by missing out the last letter no matter how careful I am.....I can only put it down to the fact that as I have used a keyboard more I have become a faster typer but sometimes my speed outstrips my ability and the fingers don't get to the kays in time....Perhaps you are having the same or a similar problem?

It's a cun isn't it?
Don't know what it's called, but i have an answer. You'll need a screwdriver for this one. Gently prize off the 'h' and 'e' and swap them over on your keyboard. Downside to this is that you'll be typing words like 'Ehllo' and 'Thlhpeonh' for Telephone !
Have you added teh to your autocorrect facility?
That wouldn't fix it on here, just in Office.
Its a mild form of dyslexia. I have it too

Dyslexia purely with regard to computers Wolfgang? I'm a pretty well superlative speller when it comes to the old pen and ink. Unfortunately, I've always scoffed ME-style at dyslexics, arguing that we don't have Physics- or PE-blindness - looks like I may have egg on my face ...
I think its down to the way you type. If its similar to me, then you use your left hand to type both the 't' and the 'e', but your right hand to type the 'h'. As your left hand is already in motion, and in the process of typing, and your right hand is waiting for the first letter, I think your left hand simply beats your right hand to the keys.

Sorry Woofgang - bleedin' blind as well as dyslexic.

Stav - I can't use my left-hand for anything, believe me!
I'm always doing (if you'll pardon the expression) But I type the word using t,h right index finger and middle finger e left middle finger
its all down to the speed you type.slow it down and all will be fine !
I agree with Syav's Back. I type mostly with just my two index fingers, so sometimes one hand gets to the next-but-one letter before the other hand gets to the next letter. It's very common to write teh, hosue, haev, and similar things.
I do it all the time, I think my left hand is slightly quicker than my right (two digit typist). I've just typed "tahn" in the first sentence, another of my unfavourites doing the same thing for the same reason
I am a copy typist for a newspaper. I can at best do around 80wpm until I have to type sent I always put snet. But in the same respect when I write things down I just lost the ability to spell.
Waht is dixlesia?
There was me thinking I was alone in that. I keep doing that too. All I can think of is the T and E are on the top row and H on the middle row
The reason is, the speed you type. When you're typing 2353756452143 words per second, you really must realise a simple word such as "the" can sometimes be underestimated in a sense. This typo is so common alot of "computer" people actually type it in purpose... not so different to "Owns" and "Pwns" Chrss :D
www.popcap.com typer shark... im failry sure you are having a laf here, so have a laff here. It is a great game for learning how to type. truely genious!
