Where can I get a really thorough health check (more than a G.P. can offer) which also includes all the usual 'Well Woman' check ups which won't cost me the earth?

The answer is that you can't. A thorough check up including ECG,Breast check and smear is going to cost you, with blood tests, a good �300! I'm afraid you get what you pay for. Your GP should be able to offer a quite satisfactory screening for nothing.
