spider in mybath

how can i kindly remove him whilst staying at arms length and not touching him with my hands? also with no risk of him running up my arm. i want a shower pronto!

A feather duster sometimes helps if he isn't too big, once you manage to scoop him up into it you can either shake him off into a bucket or chuck the feather duster out of the window and he can parachute down then you pick the feather duster up later. All the while accompanied by screams hahaha

Just put a glass over it, slide some card under the glass and put it outside. Easy peasy!!!

done it folks! after 10 minutes of dithering and a few squeals, i got him in a cotton bud container with some card. scarey moment. thansk for your suggestions x

I use a long handled ladle with holes in it that you get peas out with then his legs are so busy trying to manouevre round the holes that you can flick him out of the bathroom window before he can run up the handle.

Great idea Lankeela - i'll see if i can be brave enough to try that next time! it's the speed they can run at that frightens me.
Just another tip to any spider love - hate people who don't want to hurt the blighters - try either putting conkers in each corner of your rooms or dab horsechestnut oil around - spiders don't like it apparently and for the most time, it works.
Shame I dodn't have some in my bathroom!

If you want to be really spider friendly - don't put them outside!

The chances are that your spider has not wandered in from outside, but is actually a born-and-bred house spider. They are used to warm dry conditions, and can live for a long time with little food or water.

Problem is, they don't survive for long outside because it's a hostile environment for them.

So, just let the spider go in another room apart from the bathroom, and he will continue doing what he was doing before he blundered into your bath - making his way around the house eating creepies, and happily living alongside you, unseen - most of the time anyway.
