Milk

Is milk a food or a drink?

For general purposes I would imagine its a drink. However the serving and preperation of beer is classified as food as far as environmental health blokies are concerned so I imagine this would be the same case with milk.

Thanks for answer. This all came about from a friend who said milk was a food, i disagreed and said it was a drink. I guess babies and young animals use milk as a food stuff but i didn't know if there was a difinitive answer to what milk actually is.

I would personally say that if it can be consumed without chewing then it is a drink and vica versa.

The exception would be oysters but as they say there is always an exception to the rule.

Perhaps a good compromise would be to say that it is a food in liquid form.

There is a difference though between food and drinks, ie yogurt is a food, a smoothie is pureed food.
