what is the best way of cleaning out gloss brushes and prolonging the life of the brush?

I use white spirit to get the paint off and then wash them using a bit of washing powder which cleans them nicely.

when storing the brushes make sure they are not left standing on the brissles, bent brushes are a nightmare to use after.

Also, once clean, put an elastic band (not too tightly) around the bristles. This will help to maintain a proper shape as it dries out.
Much better than the splayed effect you get otherwise

A professional painter told me it was best to just buy cheap ones and then throw away unless you do a lot of painting. May not be to eco friendly but saves the hassle
