Size of coffins

Im not too sure if this is the right section to put this in but here goes, does anybody know how overly large people are made to fit into coffins do they have different size coffins or are the bodies drained of fluids etc ?

I dealt with one funeral where the body had to be buried on its side with knees bent up. It was no problem getting a deeper, wider, shorter coffin. :)

coffins are made to measure. Thats what I thought anyway. Thats why the undertaker comes with his tape measure, to measure up the body.

i worked in a funeral parlour, and i had to line the coffins with plastic, then put a cardboard headrest in and cover with satin, drill holes for the screws to go in, most of the coffins were chipboard and if you got cremated the coffin wasnt burnt it was sold on i believe. They do embalming at some of the palours but not the one i was in. But not a job i went into after school.

I did it as work experience at school. No teachers would come and see how i was doing even though they said i had to take it as it was the last place !!
