I have received the date of my booking in appoinment with my mid wife. Although it says in the letter they aim to do this between 8 and 12 weeks, and I was told by doctor it would be at 10 - 12 weeks, I will be having mine at 7 weeks.
Can you all remember how far along it was when you had your first appointments? Im wondering whether mine is a little early because Ive been so poorly or simply because they have a slot available on that day.
its just possible they had an earlier slot, if they were worried because you have been so ill they would have called you in by now i would have thought, mine were diff with all 3 of mine and your booking in appointment is only were they discus your personal details so it shouldnt matter when you have it, infact the earlier the better, not sure if they take blood at this stage because i remember them doing with my first and second but it was a while later with my 3rd
I know I sound like Im new to this but this is actually my second time round! lol
With my daughter, everything was so different because I didnt find out til I was 4 months pregnant!
Ive been told I will only need a urine sample this time....but alas the dreaded blood tests will follow pretty soon after Im sure!
It will just be because there is an earlier slot. Don't worry, if they were worried about you, you would have been sent to the EPAC. Mums a midwife and she often books in women that are 6 or 7 weeks, occasionally earlier. Seems ridiculous to me but remember that your midwife probably has 7-8 weeks holiday a year to take and just wants to care for you herself. You might find she is on holiday for 2 weeks from your 8 week mark.
lol with my second child I saw the midwife twice and had three scans, where I saw the consultant each time. Everything was okay and I felt fine, I felt it was enough because I had my mum at the end of the phone I spose. Everyone was really shocked about how small my notes were, even after the labour because I went home later that day. If I ever, and thats a big IF, have another one, I am gonna do it at home.
Already said I want this one at home but thats only because I hated every minute of my hospital birth.......the birth wasnt the problem, it was the staff!
My problem was the other mums in all honesty. Jesus, its like they cant do anything on their own.... heir were bells going every 10 seconds. With my first child their was a woman snoring so loudly that i couldnt sleep and she couldnt hear her baby crying.
I can remember my daughter had slept all evening and would have slept longer if it hadnt been for one inconsiderate mum putting a dirty nappy in the metal bin next to my babys cot......it was a peddle bin and she just let the lid drop very loudly!
Me and my daughter was awake for the rest of the night!
I dont envy you at all going through this again. Its bloody traumatic and then the tiredness of a newborn and then toddlers. If my first had been as awkward a toddler as my second, I dont think I would have had another child...ooops ... prob shouldnt have said that...good luck lol
