This fifth and final week of the extended reign of gen2 followed VERY familiar lines and I can now reveal that his chosen Link Words were:

Straw POLL
LOGAN Berry
CLOTTED Cream
TAMARIND Seed

Once again gen2 adopted a "devil may care" approach and gave far more hints than would be considered healthy. As his just desserts, all four link words were spotted by the time the clock read 09.05. The early birds won the day yet again!

It was a previous champion, burgess , who made the first strike with LOGAN BERRY. He was closely followed by Grenmus with STRAW POLL to pick up another two-pointer. Well done both of you!

However they were quickly eclipsed by Christiana , who came in at 09.03 as Entrant 3# with well-considered predictions (repeating the earlier two hits) and picked up FOUR Points for her troubles. For the second consecutive week, she claims the title of Hot Shot of the Week and that gave her an unassailable lead making her the June Champion and she becomes the link setter for the Month of July!

CHEERS FAR AND WIDE! TRUMPETS SOUNDING!

One minute later came Jules001 to pick up bonus points for CLOTTED CREAM and shortly after entered DinkyPuzzled with both TAMARIND SEED and LOGAN BERRY (both were thinly disguised in the preamble)! Congratulations for reading between the lines and spotting the hidden clues. (Dont expect the same service every week)

In view of the congestion at the top of the Leaders Board for several weeks now, the final points distribution was quite widespread. The following worthies merit mention:

Final League Table for June

TEN Points: Christiana
SIX Points: DinkyPuzzled
FIVE Points: Jules001 & LaneyB
FOUR Points: Alibobs, bridgenut, burgess3334, FoxLee, freebie, JMR27 & wickedtongue

This new MM Links Champion in Christiana breaks the male dominance that has prevailed since our first worthy champion of Barbara (aka rogerr). We wish Christiana success in her new role and thank gen2 for his tireless efforts to bring us entertainment over the last five weeks!

In the meantime, this is crofter signing off once again.

See you all next week for a brand new contest.
Until then, heres wishing you all HAPPY LINKING

:o)
Firstly A huge congratulations to Christiana for a superb finish to a great month. I look forward to attempting answers once again next month. Well done Christiana. I have thoroughly enjoyed setting the questions, and trying (and failing miserably) to guide you all in the right direction with hints and clues to my links. At least you can give your brains a rest now . . . unless . . .?

Thanks also to crofter for keeping the scores and for acting as the anchor-man of this game.

Christiana, we are on the same wavelength - go for it.
THE SECRETS REVEALED.

This week my theme was 'anagrams'

Congratulations to Dinkypuzzled who was the only one to guess Tamarind seed despite TWO clues
Mention of Sheriff and Omar in close proximity should have suggested Omar Sharif who had a part to play in 'The Tamarind Seed' which was an anagram of 'entire Saddam' ('fiasco' being the pointer to an anagram).
The second clue was 'coming from Tavistock near the river TAMAR IN Devon' (hidden within)

'Straw Poll' even had three clues. I mentioned vote in the third line and then the anagram 'was a sort of wall sport. later on I had 'even spook lily' (take the even numbered letters of 'spook lily')

There is a film and a book called 'Logan's Run' (Logan was 29). 'Logan was also concealed in "He too was found in hiding keeping a LOG ANd diary . . ."

My 4th choice was Cold Cream (not guessed so it went to my second choice)
The anagram was create record calm, as well as a mention of ice and cool

The red herrings were suggestions of a cake (which could have gone with seed or cream. And my use of 'concluding', 'last' and 'end' to suggest FINAL straw. Devon also suggested Devon cream or clotted cream.
Many congratulations Christiana....Look forward to your challenges! Mind you..if you are in tune with gen2 ...I should worry...didn't get any of his!!
Well done, Christiana, you are a worthy winner. I look forward with interest to the link words that choose.
Also, gen2, thank you for directing our thoughts - especially in the last two weeks. It was a most entertaining month.
Dinks.
Thanks as always Crofter and to gen2 - how can Christiana follow that!!! I thought I was so clever with my seed cake!

My thanks to everyone . Well done Christiana . Looking forward to next weekends challenge .
Well done Christiana......................looking forward to next week, maybe I can break my second month of "ducks", mind you, quite appropriate for this weather !!

Forgot to add a big thank you to gen2 for their selection...even if I didn't get any of them right.

Well done Christiana! Also, thanks to gen2 and crofter.
Hope I have better luck next week - having scored a massive zero this time round. It's all good fun!
Just checked and astonished to find I've made it - was delighted for all of two minutes, then shock, horror - as Alibobs said, how can I follow Gen2? You will hold my hand, Crofter, won't you? Thanks Gen 2 for such an entertaining month. I wish I had 'tuned in' earlier in the month, but really appreciated the thought that went into your selections. Will now get my thinking cap on - and no, that isn't a hint for next week.
Another big fat ZERO for me again this week and the same for Jim this week. Well done Christiana I will be looking forward to next week, to see if I can tune in to your wave length. I failed miserably with Gen. Thanks Gen for nothing (My score for the month I think) . :-)

Congrats Christiana, good to see the 'girls' coming out on top.

Thanks gen2, for a fascinating and totally confooozing 5 weeks
I'm no closer now to being on your wave length than I was at the start of June - just hope Christiana might not be so mind-blowin'
Well done Christiana - how do you do it? I scored my usual big fat zero - lets hope I get morei n KM links
Congrats Christine.
I hope you are not as devious , ;)) , as gen2 next month - I might have a chance then !!

Graham
