Today, coming home from work, I bumped into our local character, a lady who is mentally disabled, an outpatient of a mental hospital close by. lovely woman, eccept that she shouts when she talks to you, but everyone knows her, and looks out for her.

Anyway, she asked me when my daughters birthday was, I told her it was October, and she wrote out a lovely birthday card, and gave it to me for her. I told her it wasn't til October, but she said she might forget by then.

I know its not much of a story, but it really touched me that with all her troubles, she thought of my daughter.

Nice story for a change. People shouldn't assume that just because someone isn't firing on all cylinders that they don't think of others. Good example that there are nice people left in the world
I am sure your Shana maydel will be chuffed, come October.
Well I think that is really sweet!

Have you thought of asking her her birthday Lonnie?

When the time comes, you and your daughter could give her a card, I bet that would make her day ;)
Ah, that's a lovely story Lonnie.

I agree with both nuttymum & Psychick - I bet it would make her day to receive a card from you & your daughter.

Restored my faith after reading some of the old tosh on here at times! -x-
