60's song? "..so you wanna be a rock to the stars, gonna make you happy.."

im looking for a song that was probably a 60's song.

i think it was played at woodstock but i'm not sure. the only thing that i remember is that the chorus lyrics were saying something like "..so you wanna be a rock to the stars, gonna make you happy.." or something like "so you wanna be a trip to the stars, gonna make you happy.."

It is a slow song(with guitar and organ) and I cant tell if it has female or male vocals, the voice is very soft. perhaps it is a jefferson airplane song..

any ideas?

It's not the Byrds "So you want to be a rock'n'roll star" is it, that would fit the era that you mentioned.

im afraid it isnt. it is more slow and has soft vocals
