I have an endorsement on my license (drink driving, which i'm not v proud of) and i know i am unable to hire a car in the UK for 5 years, when the endorsement will be written off my license.

I am looking to got To Rep of Ireland in the next couple of months and would like to hire a car and was wondering whether my endorsement will matter over there, being that the offence was comitted in the UK?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Endorsements for drink driving stay on your licence for 11 years.

I think they are on your criminal record for 11 years but after 5 they are spent in terms of incurance and your license.

What i need to know is does the offence count in Rep of ireland as it was comitted in the UK (in terms of hiring a car)
