Awarded Costs

What costs should I expect to pay if found guilty of a charge brought by the local council?
I understand court costs yes, my fine yes, and my own solicitors fees, but will I need to pay the legal expenses of the council or will that be a burden to the taxpayer?
Many thanks in advance.

I told you once before when you posted the same reply to a law question...I have a lead, I have several, extendable and small, I also have bowls, car harnesses, collars, food, water, dog beds and a veterinary surgeon on hand.
I've also said before I am innocent of this "offence" as my dog was on private land. (Even though I don't agree with the law anyway) I'm glad you are not the judge.
I feel sorry you keep having to interupt my questions with your uninformed, bigotted replies. In the past you have been very helpful but on this occassion you are making my whole anxiety about the situation and prospect of court a lot worse.

But the law doesn't just apply to dogs on public land . It applies to: -
failing to pick up after your dog
failing to keep a dog on a lead on public land and designated parks (designated parks will be private owned - they are owned by the council. Council-owned land doesn't make it public land, unfortunately)
allowing a dog within certain designated areas where dogs are excluded, like fenced children's play areas and the Cathedral Green in Exeter - also private land
failing to put your dog on a lead when asked to do so by an authorised officer of the council.
No-one is above the law otherwise anarchy is the result. Very soon the whole world will know about your 'stand' in Exeter.
