buying a council property

i would like to buy my mothers council house she has lived there over 40 years and is now a pensioner she gets housing benefits etc would they be affected if i became her landlord ?

However even with the discount no lender would touch it so I'd imagine you can probably borrow the money and put a charge on the property as a guarantor, quite difficult to achieve though most lenders would run a mile even from that. You would have no control over the property, your mum would be the registered owner.
