Have another go at cryptics You'll find that your general knowledge will help you solve them. Try Saturday's prize cryptic in Daily Telegraph. It's usually the easiest of the week.
Basically a cryptic clue consists of the definition of the answer either at the beginning or at the end of the clue and a cryptic indicator. It often helps to look for the definition first.
