Boris Johnson for London Mayor ?
Would you vote for him ? I would. He is an absolute scream and I'm a bit fed up with Ken, honest man though he is. With Boris it would be a laugh a minute and even though he'd probably scrap congestion charge on hooray-henry gas-guzzlers, he'd also likely legalise cycling on the pavement, about time too.

I wouldn't vote for Boris because I don't support Conservative policies.
I also think that Ken should be applauded for introducing the congestion charge, totally transforming Trafalgar Square and helping London to win the Olympic bid.
I think it says a lot for the power of the Jewish lobby in politics and the media that when a politician stands up for the interests of Palestinians instead of Israelis, he is painted as some sort of Hitler figure. That's the way - stifle the debate.
I have to admit, the Tores' use of Boris Johnson is very clever though. His floppy-haired 'oh crumbs' bumbling persona makes people lose sight of the fact that he's essentially an old school Tory who has utter disdain for the working classes.

I think Boris Johnson is a likeable buffoon, but I wouldn't want him to be Mayor of London. He's a wonderful character for Parliament, but too scatty to be given real power.
I would also like to say that I don't believe Ken Livingstone's stance against the policies of the Israeli government makes him anti semitic. I don't like the policies of George Bush, but I would be upset if people assumed this meant I was either anti-Christian or anti-American.

The problem with politicians is that they can be divided into 2 camps. The doers and the sayers. Ken Livingstone is a doer and what he sets out to achieve he usualy accomplishes making him a hard person to beat. Boris Johnston is an idiot, sacked from his own front bench and causing untold damage with his views on Liverpool and very unlikely to come up with any decent proposal for Londoners. Maybe the Tory leadership want him out of the commons as he would have to resign his MP seat to stand.
Blair was never a doer unless you include the 6 wars he has got Britain into. It reminds me of a delinquent who has nothing to contribute so picks on everybody and smashes up the classroom.

I wouldn't say utter disdain, more a traditional set of laissez faire economic and capitalistic values which gives rise to a meritocratic system in Ol' Blighty.
The man has no ill-will in his portfolio, he just sees England what it is- A ruling nation, led by the deserved elite making sure the peasant classes are comfortable, but not too cosy, if that makes sense.
He is also an immensely likable chap, more well educated and upper-middle class than the stereotypical hoo-ray Henry.
The peasant classes could do a lot worse than him for a role model. And as our capital city is being infiltrated with wannabe gansta' black children who say "Know what i'm sayin'" after every sentence, who wear ridiculous clothes and gesticulate like some rabid baboons whilst all carrying knives and guns, Boris would get my vote anyday.

Or those that have gotten rich by standing on the shoulders of the peasants and paying them six pence and a shilling (well something like that) for their work? As either way, I was kind of under the impression that it was the middle classes that ran this nation anyway.

By the desereved elite, I am referring to a meritocracy as opposed to inherited titles etc.
Apart from the Royal Family (all 40 or so of them in a nation of 62 million!!) the country is run by the best suited for the positions.
If the peasants are paid sixpence and a shilling (if they are in fact different units of currency), then they should bloody well get on their bikes and ride to a better job which pays half a crown and a guinnea.
Whether you like it or not, what is taught in Eton and Harrow is not much different to what is taught in Cardiff Secondary Modern, or whatever hell hole it is called. Opportunity is a free for all, especially the access to that said opportunity.
Give me one good reason why a child from the bowels of inner city Swansea, from a broken home with a limp can not be a top doctor or lawyer.

When are people going to realise that it is just a myth that the Labour party are somehow pro-working class. This may have been so years and years ago but not now.
The only people that the Labour party look after are those that won't work and immigrants, while at the same time grinding the working man down. They will even make it very hard for anyone who wants to set up business on their own, with their taxes and petty regulations.

Gotta love Boris but I can't take him seriously. Any man who answers the Did You Ever Take Drugs question by replying "W-w-w-w-w-w-w" and gets away with it by a chuckling audience is a national treasure but a lightweight. Mind you, Livingstone is a national disaster and a political bantamweight himself.
