How do I remove the superimposed sign-language people from Channels 4 and 5 on the Freeview box? I have a cheap (and rubbish) Goodmans GDB 2 which I have manually updated the firmware to V3.11 but I can't find a way to remove them. The signers are not on the terrestrial Channels 4 and 5. Thanks.

Are they there on all TV Shows? I have them on terrestrial tv as well as Telewest Digital.

They cannot be removed. For some reason, they deliberately put them only on the digital versions of these channels. The in vision signers cannot be seen on analogue terrestrial, but cannot be removed on digital terrestrial. This is not a problem with your box.

Indie: that's because your not in the signer's club. I think not all progs have them, I think I only notice it on Sunday mornings when I watch the most telly.
