gave up on the 1 july and first wk was fairly easy only used the odd bit of normal gum. second wk is really hard. body seems to be missing some sort of hit and have nearly cracked to have that cig but have not as yet.
not using anything as yet, do you think i should start on the patches to stop this need of a hit.
do you think it would be ok to smoke say on friday/sat nites and not the rest of the wk?
having to stop myself really hard not having that cig....

It may wake you up to the fact that your life is at the moment safe and will continue that way all the time you stay off the ciggies.
The risk of cancer and coughing up blood over your future grandchildren is surely enough to get over the hit and craving.
However, I am not totally blase about addiction, so I wish you all the best for future ceasation. The 13 days thus far without inhaling cancer, must be, quite literally, a breath of fresh air for you long abused lungs.
Continue the good work.

Every time you want a cig, log onto your computer and look at this picture:

I gave up smoking 5 and a half years ago. The only way is to do it completely I'm afraid, if you can get through the first 21 days you'll be fine, the nicotine will all be gone from your system and the habit should be breaking.I did it through my Dr's who were brilliant. Please don't give up trying.
