Probably an automated telemarketting device checking to see if a human has answered the call and therefore how to carry on. Your outgoing answerphone message was probably playing during the first part so you don't have a complete version of the call recorded. Not much there to work on but maybe someone here has responded personally to such a call and can fill in more details?
