Does the check in online facilities i,e Monarch airline mean that you can check in online and you dont need to go to the aiport as early? Our flight is at 7.00am, i have prebooked seats and i can check in on the net from 24hours before the flight. What time will i need to get there by?

checking in online can be a good or bad thing,if a lot of people do it,then the bag drop queue can be just as long as the check in queue,and you still have to be asked all the questions and go through the same process as check in,so sometimes its good,sometimes its bad.
The drop bag desk closes one hour before departure - and you must be at the departure gate 45 minutes before departure.

With the security checks still very strict and time consuming, you need to be at the drop bag desk at least an hour and a half before flight time;

All information is on the Monarch site:

I recently used online check-in (for a different airline) and printed off our online boarding passes for the flight. Great!

After standing for ages in a queue at Security, the bar-codes on our boarding passes were scanned, and promptly rejected by the system. So I had to go back to re-join the queue at the check-in counter, do a swap for the normal type boarding passes, and queue again at Security.

In future, I'll always ask for normal boarding passes at the baggage drop-off desk!
