A friend has said her daughter will be on a university course that is NHS funded. Does this mean that theNHS pay a tuition and living expenses so she doesn't have to get a student loan?

I am also starting a course this year that is NHS funded.Basically it means that the NHS pay tution fees and you get a bursary,either means or non means tested depending on the course and where you will be studying that is non repayable and you can use for anything,accommodation etc.You are not eligible for a student loan or maintenance grant if you receive a bursary.

I is a speech therapy course. Do you know how much the bursary would be?

If the busary is NOT means-tested then it will be about �500 a month.
Is it a degree or diploma? Generally bursaries for degree courses are tested on the household income and are about �3000 a year.

Will the money have to be repaid if she does not work in the NHS?
