My husband was killed in an RTA. The other driver has been charged with driving without due care and attention. My husband was entirely innocent and the other driver was only slightly hurt.
What sentence could he be given

oh I'm so sorry i cant begin to imagine what you are going through. now here's the hard bit im not saying it will happen but my friend was killed in the same circumstances in 1989 and he was totally reckless but im afraid he got 5 years suspended and was free to go i isn't fair in fact its disgusting but it happened i really hope for you the law has changed and he gets what he deserves. take care of yourself

I hate to say it but my best friend was killed in a car accident when we werer 16, the driver got a �350 fine and 6 points

well did he do it on purpose was he drunk or talking on a mobile phone?? if not it was an accident and he might be going through hell himself, no sentance can bring him back and no sentance will make the other driver feel any better he will always feel guilty and live the nightmare. of that accident unless he was a total jerk and driving dangerous and again the above applies to this as well he will always live with it like you have to.

maxine55 read what it says, driving without due care and attention. who cares if he has to live with the guilt and he is going through hell he has killed an innocent man with his stupidity and left a woman without a husband so he should be punished.

If I walked around the streets firing a gun without due care and attention , I would at least get done for manslaughter if I killed someone .
Why does the law show a difference between an ounce of lead and a ton of steel?

It just means they cant prove it was dangerous driving, it makes me sick

I am very very sorry for your loss, my uncle was killed in a rta by a drink driver and was charged with without due care and attention and im sorry to say he got a perthetic 2 years for my uncles life and was out in 9 months.
The justice in this world is disgusting and unreal sometimes and i only hope you get a better out come than we did.
My honest sympathy and my thoughts are with you all
