Standby/Hibernation Modes unavailable
Help,
Ever since I connected my digital video camera to my laptop the display has been messed up and I can no longer select the option to either stand by or hibernate.Any suggestions as to how I could repair?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.This is actually pretty simple. Go to start then run type in msconfig. Once the system configuration box opens go to services and press disable all. Then go to start up and also disable all of them. Then restart your computer.
Once the computer has restarted go to control panel, (performance and maintance first if you use category view) power options, then the hibernation tab. Press the tick and restart your pc again.
Once it has restarted go to run and type in msconfig. Enable everything that you disabled by pressing enable all. Restart your computer one more time and hibernation should work.
