Most dogs would not actually attack a cat that faced up to it, most dogs are into chasing them only for a bit of fun but nearly any dog would actually dispense with a cat without any trouble, just think of the jaw size!! a cat is very unlikely to inflict a serious injury where as a dog could crush a cats body with a good bite. The biggest problem with a cat bite is the resulting infection!!

At the end of the day a fox is unlikely to go anywhere near a cat as it has no interest in one, but if it did it would be the end of the cat!!!

having watched 100s of documenteries on animal fights i can reveal that the fox would win but would not bother going anywhere near a cat unless forced to

Agree with Bob - if the cat doesn't run but faces up to the fox, the fox won't go near it. If it runs, it's more likely to be chased.

If a kitten (cos that's all it is) did stand it's ground against a fox it would probably have it's neck snapped, think about a kitten or a cat for that matter against a Jack Russell.
And, basically what a damn fool question.

I've been lucky to have the experience of seeing a kitten living with a family of foxes that I feed, They also let the kitten feed first,I actually took photos of them because people wouldn't believe me, I think I posted them on here some time last year, so no, it isn't a silly question!
