The company I work for doesn't pay overtime if you work on a Saturday - is this normal?
They pay the same rate as during the week.

Yes, quite normal.
Many, possibly most, companies pay a standard rate at all times. When I worked in the rail industry, we got the same rate of pay for working weekdays, weekend, bank holidays and overtime.

In a few occupations, overtime is paid at a rate lower than the normal rate. For example, until recently, junior hospital doctors' pay dropped to just one third of their normal rate as soon as they commenced overtime.

Thanks guys - did NOT know that! I think it's outrageous. Thanks again, Laurinha x
I didn't know that either, amazing that some actually pay less! I guess generally it's a choice if you do overtime or not though.

Makes me realise I'm quite lucky, any extra hours during the week is time and a half and weekends are double time.
depends on your contract of employment. some companies stipulate that you work 5 over 7 days therefore they dont need to pay you overtime until you work over 39 hours then it is classed as extras duties i would imagine.
