I have posted a few Qs in this section about various cat things, but I thought I would just let you all know that I am worried tonight. My cat Puss who is 18yrs old is not well today, he is acting very strangely. He looks sad I gave him some prawns ( his favourite ) he turned his nose up. He keeps drinking water He is wondering around the house He wont' sit on my knee like he usually does When I groomed him today he kept moving away (not normal) I know that you will tell me to take hime to the vet, which I will, but he hates the cat box, it really freaks him out so as I dont't want to upset him I shall wait till after the weekend and see how he is. Also he has gone very thin, he has always been a lean cat, but I can feel his bones, and a gust of wind would blow him over.

If you take him to the vet at least you will know for certain what it wrong. It may well be treatable, and you might find yourself with a rejuvenated cat.
I hope that this is the case and all goes well for both of you. But you will feel much better taking him to the vet as soon as you can (even over the weekend) - if you are like me you will be making yourself ill with worry.

Just to let you know Puss is ok. he's had a check up and nothing seems wrong. Funnily enough he has perked up today, he had his breakfast and is looking happier. I gave him a dose of Frontline on Thursday night and vet says sometimes it can make them a bit off colour for a day or two although I have never noticed this before. Thanks for replies.
Im so pleased for you and kitty, but pussnboots one of my oldies [ I have three ] is allergic to frontline and the first time he had some I thought I was going to lose him, it was awful to see him in such a state, the vet said thsat this can happen quite often with older cats, so I dont use it at all on any of my oldies. So perhaps yours has the same problem.
I think that it is best to take them to the vet as soon as you notice something wrong - last time I spent four days in a state of anxiety when Frankie was ill. He was far too quiet and barfing up, but eating properly and going to the loo.
His sister had hit him and he had got an infection. One shot of antibiotics and he was back to trashing the place again.
I hope that Puss has a longer and enjoyable life.
