Frank Zappa Myth?

On Zappa's 'Cheap Thrills' album there is a track called 'the mudshark interview' in which a mock interview takes place regarding the possibilty of fishing from windows in a hotel room. I have heard of an imfamous rumour regarding two related topics. Firstly, a famous rock star catching a fish from a window and later using it in a perverse way. And secondly, another (or possibly the same) rock star being equally perverse with an octopus. Is it all a myth, or did these events actually happen in real life (and not just in Zappa's mildly deranged head), and if so then who were the culprits!!?
