However I cannot see if these two have the ability to connect xbox 360 - component video socket I think it is, I also know I need a cable too.
As you seem to be the guy, I am basically looking for a cheap big quaity lcd hd tv for playing xbox 360 26" or even better 32" for the best price.
It will be put in the bedroom for playing xbox but I saw that you can get the freeview in them for a few extra quid, so we can watch other channels for free I thought would be worth the extra money.
So thanks for those links but now you know my back ground are there anymore you know that are cheap and are they xbox 360 compatible.
Your help is much needed this tv is a gift for the boy friend and therefore I want to get the best value for my money, We are not posh ' look what we have people' so any make would be good as long as it is realiable and will not just fall apart.
It will be put in the bedroom for playing xbox but thou

The Bush has only 1 SCART, so avoid that.
I prefer this Philips for much the same price -better contrast ratio than the Hitachi, better sound output, better make,

But prices are constantly falling - if you can wait a few months when they will be much cheaper.

I remember that you were the female a few days ago who said she wanted to buy a TV for her b/f to play the XBox on his TV in the bedroom.
Well the two TVs you listed are between 450 and 500 and for that price you can get a good quality 32" LCD TV.
There are certain TV makes that are "good" and have a quality reputation and I am afraid Bush do not come into that category. DO NOT BUY THE BUSH.
The two TVs I suggested are by Samsung and Toshiba and they are Quality makes. Many TV experts would say they make the best LCD TVs at the moment.
Here is a Panasonic (another good make) from Amazon at only 399 with component socket.
No Freevierw but you can pick up a Freeview box for about 30.

Thank you both for your help esp mr helpful for you continued assistance.
Yes I kind of knew bush was not the best make but thought it did not matter too much although I do tend to avoid make's I haven't even heard of lol.
I will have a look further at the ones you mention, thank you for opening my eyes to the better makes at good prices.
Lets hope he likes it otherwise he will get a thick ear!
Will go and have a look at the amazon one now and have a look on comet and dixons.
Yes I could get freeview set top box separate I looked at them.
One more question though if you have the time.....Where do you stand on 3 year warranty etc do you think it is a good idea it can cost around 100 is it worth it, I usually avoid them and don't invite accident prone people in the house what do you think???
