Reading the forgotten verse in todays Express I thought it spot on for dog lovers, What'syour opinion?

Thanks for sharing the verse with us paddywak it's so true and yet sad.I also like this quote:-

Thanks for your post Illyria it pretty well sums up what a dog can mean to his "man" (or woman) Glad people like the bit of Kipling he might not be so popular as the was but he certainly hits the nail on the head with this one.

Kipling has got it right again,Lankeela. Che my last GSD was the first dog that was mine rather then a family pet .When I had to have him put to sleep at the grand old age of 14 I was so upset I could barely look at a GSD for month. Still even knowing what you will eventually have to go thru It's worth it for the pleasure you get from your friends while they're with you

Loved the second one by Kipling as well, I cried as I read it thinking of my dog I had to have put down earlier this year, but also laughed as I could hear my new naughty one running around upstairs
