If talent was a measure of success, then Paul Simon would sell more records than Robbie Williams. It is so much more than that - being in the right place at the right time is the key. Being spotted by the right person - as Oasis were - riding a rising trend - as The Darkness did - all these factors come into it. So if you expect success because you are taltented, you will be diasppointed. Trust to luck, because that is what will get you success. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

I do't think talent is the issue- I don't think it ever has been! You need the X factor combined with a degree of talent- most of all you need to LOOK and SOUND distinctive. You need to be instantly recognisable. Then add that to the being in the right place at the right time, and having a lot of luck, and self discipline, and you might have a shot!!
