Nothing against him personally I think he is a lovely singer but just wondered what he knows about ballroom dancing to be a judge for the show.There is that many steps and styles surely he cannot know all this if he has not been a ballroom dancer.

I know, I thought so too, what qualifies him to sit in judgement. He's no personality either so it will be interesting to see him come out with all the predictable comments used by other judges: ie: you are what this show is all about!

I saw him on Loose Women today and he was saying that he was doing ballroom dancing from the age of 3!! And by 11 was Junior British Champion - or something like that!!!

It doesn't seem to have stopped Arlene Phillips judging on Strictly Come Dancing.

Arlene Phillips is a choreographer works including films music videos west end shows such as grease sat night fever and lots more so she would have to have knowledge for all this.dancing.

I need to apologise.Ray Quinn did do ballroom dancing he was no 1 for under 12s in ballroom and latin dancing.

Yes I think he has done a considerable amount from what I have heard and is probably a better judge than Arlene who did very little, but I guess its entertainment value at the end of the day. There are probably many talented ballroom dancers who could judge it brilliantly but would they be good on camera? Who knows.
