When can cravings start during pregnancy?

As above, my wife is just over 5weeks pregnant and craving pie lol!! But she is wondering if she ios just being piggy or whether cravings are starting?!

Hi. My first clue that I might be pregnant was eating five or 6 packets of cheese and onion crisps a day - not normally something i do. Swiftly moved on to real cheese, just gnawing off the block.
I was about 5 weeks pregnant when i did the test so it is possible that her cravings have started this early. Don't want to worry you but turned out i was expecting twins. : )

I didnt know i was pregnant until my mum made me do a test cos SHE craved curly wurlys!
I got my carvings the second i knew i was pregnant, let the woman enjoy her pregnancy!

It was about the same time for me when I started having cravings. They come and go now and I seem to go through phases.
Wait til she wants ice cream with the pie! lol

ha ha!! I'll look forward to a good laugh at that....not infront of her she might kill me lol!!

So did any of you have to have something in the middle of the night and sent your man out to the 24hour tesco?

treacle tart and once i got it i didn't want it. not popular that day.!!!!

I always thought people made up the cravings but mine started before I knew I was pregnant. Mind you being thick I didn't realise I was pregnant until I was 14 weeks. Thought I'd developed a cat allergy cos every time I went near a cat I was being sick

diane, I have actually had to rehome my two cats because I just couldnt bear to be near them anymore :( I couldnt feed them, I couldnt stand them smell of them (even though they werent smelly!)

Dean, I think the latest my fella has gone to tesco for me is about 11pm! lol .......... still plenty of time for that to become later though! lol

god same as. My first 12 weeks consisted of chicken pies yummy had to have them. I dont crave anything now though.

I craved meat, meat meat and meat up till 16 weeks. I didn't send the hubby out in the middle of the night but I did stock my (vegetarian) in laws fridge full of the stuff!

I pretty sure Britain's organic steak sales tripled!

One word if you want to be supportive, try to find her the best quality pies you can or even make your own with good quality meat. You don't want her filling up on to much chemically produced junk. She will love you forever if you indulge her and look after her at the same time!

I never had any cravings at all with my daughter but seeing as I am having them this time round, my biggest worry is that I end up craving any meat of any kind.........I am vegetarian! lol
