Volvo S40

Hey all, for some reason I am strangely drawn to the Volvo S40, almost to the point of wanting to go out this weekend and buy one! Does anybody have any opinions on this car. How would it compare to other cars in its class? many thanks!

I test drove one prior to getting our C70, as it is more or less the same engine/driveline. They are good cars and the diesel ones we have been leant while ours is in for service go like stink!! Try one with the D5 diesel if you can.
