Am i overreacting?

My boyfriend and i were texting each other this morning and then i didnt get a text back for a while so i text him asking if work was busy and the rest of the texts went as follows;
BF: I was driving, dont worry, love you xx
Me: wasnt worried xx
BF: fine f*ck you then, you f*cking stupid cow
Me: what was that 4?
BF: joking xxx

So i phoned him and was like why say that, its not funny and then he starts saying 'cant i have a joke with you' and then said i was being pathetic getting upset.
I do hacve a sense of humour but really dont understand how that could be funny. That was a couple of hours ago and we havent spoke since - am i overreacting or is he completely out of order?

Totally agree with loosehead, I was about to write the same thing. Your "wasn't worried" text could've been taken the wrong way. The tone of a text is really difficult to decipher so it's never worth arguing over.

when u txt him sayin u wasnt worried hes flipped thinkin u were bein sarcastic as if 2 say u werent assd that he neva txt u bk,so hes txt u that bein serious and when u txt him bk askin wot wos that 4 hes realized hes got the wrong end of stick an tried 2 turn it in2 a joke! watch this guy he has a short fuse that u dnt know about so just be careful an dnt rush in2 anythin with him until u are sure u know him 101% proper xxx
