Virusprotectpro icon on 'Taskbar'.
Please, please can anyone help!!! I have somehow gained an icon on my taskbar (I think it is attempting to look like the Windows Security Shield!) that comes up with a bubble saying 'Spyware has been detected on your computer. Click here to update security programs'. It then takes you to a website 'virusprotectpro.com' to try to get you to buy their antivirus software. I have run virus and spyware checks and nothing is detected. Is it safe? I would love to get rid of it!!!

I am not personally recommending it because I have not used it. But the site looks worth a look. Let me know what you think and how you get on.

If you want to do it automated d/load this tool.

Extract to your Desktop, then enter the folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd.
Select option 1 and press enter. If you can post the resultant log back here. It saves a text document, C:\Rapport.txt.
